With week four in the books there’s a lot of ground to cover. Week 5 is super qwirky with the bottom six teams all playing each other you’ll never know how much of a bullet we dodged last weekend, as my initial cash lineup had Marcus Mariota, Ty Montgomery, and Julio Jones and all three failed to finish their respective games due to injury after fast starts. No one in my suggested cash lineup scored well aside from the Seattle D/ST who represented my highest point total. No one was a dud including kicker Jake Elliot who also did his part to get help us get paid. We blew the cash line by 10 points, so as long as your kicker scored 9 points, you should’ve cashed. Three cheers for Tevin Coleman who was my highest point getter amongst position players…. Check out how we’re doing below, but let’s the plane on Week 5 cash plays.
- WEEK 1 – 144 points – CASHED
- WEEK 2 – 93 points – Not Good
- WEEK 3 – 135 points – CASHED
- WEEK 4 – 130 points – CASHED – you know I did
QUARTERBACK – The Play Book of Eli
This is almost a no brainer for as Eli Manning only costs $7K on FanDuel. I haven’t killed it with my QB choice yet this year, but I ‘m still looking for the cheapest way to 20 points. Mannning has averaged 25.5 points over his last two games on the road throwing 5 TDs to 2 INTs. This week the Chargers come all the way across the country banged up and with a depleted secondary. The Giants still have no running game, so I’m Eli is the guy this week
RUNNING BACKS – For Whom the Bell Tolls
Le’Veon Bell is officially back, and marked down 144 rushing yards plus a ton of targets in the passing game as well. He goes up against a Jacksonville Jaguars team, that just got lambasted by Bilal Powell. Bell should be a cash game staple this week.
Bilal Powell, the lone bright spot for the Jets was a beast at home to the Jags. No one seems to be concerned as they face the winless Browns this week. I don’t know why the Jets wouldn’t just continue to feed Powell the ball, and until I find a good reason why wouldn’t I’m rolling with him in the cash game.
WIDE RECEIVERS – The full Nelson.
Nobody in the Cowboy secondary can matchup with Nelson. Even though I get super nervous with Nelson in cash games because of all the targets Aaron Rodgers will utilize , especially in the red zone. Nelson is still the guy to own, in this offense, especially if Davante Adams and Ty Montgomery can’t.
Devante Parker is beloved by his QB, and has an 8 target floor which at $6100 is a steal against a Tennessee Titan that just got torched by Houston. It’s only a matter of time before he goes off, but when he doesn’t he still has that great floor.
Stephon Diggs – plays on Monday night and has a great matchup. He’s still a boom or bust guy, but his floor has been creeping north and I like him in this spot especially with all the love new QB Case Keenum has been giving him
TIGHTEND – Golden Graham
The Seahawks can’t run the ball, and have a big time game coming up. Jimmy Graham will be an active part of the game plan against a tough opponent. Remember the Rams defense hasn’t been that great, so take the $5800 below market value on him as his usage has seen a nice uptick. He’s dirt cheap and the volume is there to justify the roster spot.
*** I also love Zach Ertz in cash but couldn’t afford him while keeping my core intact.
DEFENSE — Lots To Love
There’s are some decent options this week, but all of the sure fire defenses are way too expensive, I’m taking a huge risk with Baltimore’s defense as the Raiders will be without Derek Carr this week. I don’t think the first two games were an entire fluke and this defense will come back with a vengeance this week.
I like the Eagles at home against the Cardinals well, and if I’m going high end the Vikings should come close to hitting value.
These are you plays that will pay…. Good luck gamers.
