With Tony Romo still not healthy enough to practice, the Dallas Cowboys (5-1 SU and ATS) are expected to start Dak Prescott at quarterback when they host the Philadelphia Eagles (4-2 SU and ATS) on Sunday Night Football. Kick-off is 8:30 PM ET on NBC; at press time, the Cowboys are favored by 4.5 points, holding steady since the open, with the total set at 43.5.

As long as Prescott continues to play well, the Cowboys have every reason to be cautious with Romo’s return from a fractured spine. The fourth-round pick from Mississippi State has outperformed just about every other quarterback in the league, including his opponent on Sunday, fellow hotshot rookie Carson Wentz.
Dallas is also coming off a bye in Week 7, while Wentz and the Eagles were busy beating the Minnesota Vikings 21-10 as 3-point home dogs (+100) on the closing line. That game saw Philadelphia CB Ron Brooks suffer a torn quadriceps tendon; he’s been placed on injured reserve, leaving the Eagles considerably weaker in the slot and on special teams. The Cowboys, meanwhile, should have WR Dez Bryant back in action after he missed three games with a hairline fracture in his right knee.
