World Series of Handicapping Week 13 Recap:  Identifying Fools Gold

December 6th, 2017

With ¼ of the season still to play do or die for many of us has resulted in categorical death.  The World Series of Handicapping event will go down as one for the ages, as NFL parody has victimized us all in some capacity… some of us more than once.   If you are sustaining with a barrage of 4-3 records every week you are likely breathing your last few breaths in this competition as I am.  If the winner of this thing is currently outside the top 10 there’s a chance that they will finish with at least 5 wins every week from here on out.  The 4-3 bull sh*t needs to stop and really has needed to for a while.

It’s become incredibly more difficult to pick games as many that have seemed obvious (ie Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati) have blown up in our faces.  This is true fools gold and I hate the Steelers right now.  There are so many experts right now claiming to have amazing season long records, but their advice can really stink sometimes.  I refuse to listen too these experts (national sports talk radio figures)  and would rather my own research.  This way there’s no one else to blame but myself.  I tend to agree with this WSOH competition.

Special Props goes to Bigdaddy1518 for being the weekly winner.   The week’s top dog went a peculiar Green Bay, San Francisco, Seattle,  New York and Miami.  This is a ballsy card by Bigdaddy, as all of these teams are struggling in their own unique  way .  Green Bay has a new QB and a bunch of injuries as well.  San Francisco is rolling out Jimmy G to save their souls, but He’s started 3 games and is still young.

The Jets and Miami are bad teams for various reason, and are used to getting picked on.  In this case getting picked on is a good thing.  Seattle was a home dog, and a no brainer pick., but technically they are struggling.  The point is Bigdaddy tackled games with bad teams and it paid off.  They also mixed in two over/under games.  There were a handful of gamers at 6-1  but only BookieKillBucky who finished at 6-1  found themselves  in the top 5 over all standings.  This could a name we hear in the coming weeks.

Over all  two familiar names find themselves at the top of the standings.  Allredb1 leads the way with 132.50points while Romoney1977 is a good 60 points behind.  I’d like to say they’ve separated themselves from the pack, but we all know how that goes.  I will say that they both have been remarkably consistent all year and though their week 13 standings were 12th and 20th overall they still remain at the top.

They both just lost major ground on the pack.  Sadly from here on out, one miserable week will all but seal their fate as all competitors are buckling down.  KdubbNM finished in the red gave up 30 points ore less to the field…that’s sad to me but they are still in striking distance.   Many still have a shot, but that number is becoming less and less by the week.

Good luck this week gamers.
